Trick Or Treat

This year Lily was Tinkerbell for Halloween. We didn't make many stops or get much candy, but it was sure fun to see her dressed up!

The Pumpkin Train

Last weekend we went to the National Railroad Museum in Green Bay to ride the Pumpkin Train. There's a train that gives about a 7 minute ride out to a field where there are hundreds of pumpkins. Each person on the train gets to pick out a pumpkin. We went with JL, Mel, and their girls, and all four girls loved looking at all the pumpkins. Afterward there were many activities for the kids and Jordan and Maya especially loved climbing in the trains.

Caves in Canada

One of the days we drove to a little scenic cave tour. There was a very scary suspension bridge to walk across, some neat caves to look in (not many to go in, though), and a nature trail that Lily enjoyed immensely. At the end of it all there was a trout pond with about five tame really large trout in it. We bought some trout food and Lily fed the fish.

Oh Canada

We went on vacation to Canada this month. We stayed at a resort right outside Barrie, Ontario which is about 1.5 hrs north of Toronto. Since there wasn't much to do in the area except snow ski (not in season) and golf (season ending), we decided to drive the almost 3 hours to Niagara Falls. It was really worth it. Here are some pictures of the falls and of us on the Maid of the Mist boat tour.

Air Lily/ KISS try outs

So either Lily is trying out to be the new lead singer for KISS or she is planning on capitalizing on the success Michael Jordan had while sticking his tongue during a dunk. Also, check out those long eye lashes... what a flirt.

Lily Pictures

Lily's getting bigger and bigger everyday. She can practically run now, and as you can see she's learning to talk on the phone (she can say "hi"). She enjoys hanging out at the farmer's market downtown and wearing sunglasses like Mommy.

Recital

We were surprised to receive a phone invitation to a recital so late in the afternoon, but we got out the camera and headed to the neighbors'. We were surprised to see two girls all decked out and ready to dance. After our private showing of their new moves, I helped them learn a few more :)

Another Business Trip

On May 20th we drove down to Chicago because Geoff had a conference there. We were only there for two days
and one night, but we still had a lot of fun. While Geoff was at the conference, Lily and I made a two mile walk along the water. We stopped to play in the shade (it was 80+ degrees outside!), but eventually arrived at our destination: The Shedd Aquarium.

Geoff joined us at the aquarium, and after an afternoon of watching fish, finding lizards, and seeing a dolphin show, we ended at this cool fountain.

Then we took a ferry to Navy Pier, ate dinner, chatted with Bob Newhart, and played ring-around, the rosy with a bunch of kids. Needless to say, we were pretty tired by the time we fell into our beds back in De Pere.

Our only disappointment? We had completely forgotten that our friend, Smeeta, lives in Chicago now. Geoff ran into her at the conference, but Lily and I never got to see her. Sorry again, Smeeta! We miss you a lot!

Geoff and I made our first trip without Lily this month. On May 15 we left Lily with my mom and drove up to Door County for two days. We stayed at Blacksmith Inn on the Shore in Baily's Harber (I highly recommend it!), and we had a great time. And I only called home two or three times each day!

While we were there we did wine tastings at two different wineries (and left with a total of 12 bottles of wine). We rode a tandem bike to a lighthouse and back to the Inn. Our friends, Kate and Jeff, have a baby store in Door County, so we stopped to check it out and buy a present for Lily. We ate out and took advantage of what little nightlife Door County has to offer in the off-season. It was an amazing trip, but we're glad to be back home with Lily.

Mother's Day

For my very first Mother's Day, Geoff and Lily took me to have some family portraits taken. Go to https://www.smilesbywire.com/home.asp?AC=LTPP0051100141JCP and type in the name Geoff Zoeckler to see the pictures.

They also took me to the New Zoo where Moms got in free. Lily loved the animals; she especially liked feeding the llamas, reindeer, and the giraffe!

Bath time is so fun. We think Lily is the cutest naked baby ever.

Heritage Hill

Kristen, Lily, and I went to Heritage Hill today (a 19th century outdoor historical park in Green Bay) for a $2 pancake breakfast, sheep shearing, and horse carrage rides. One little goat got Lily's attention by chewing on daddy's finger. Lily also found a horse to have a staring contest with. Overall it was a really fun morning despite the cool weather.
